Bioscope, 1895
Around the same time the Theatrograph was being released in England and the Cinématograph in France, Maximillian Skladanowsky released the Bioscope in Berlin in November of 1895. The Bioscope projected a filmstrip at a rate of sixteen images per second. In comparison to the Theatrograph and Cinématograph, the Bioscope was too cumbersome for comparison and quickly faded from use. However, the bioscope represents the same technological advances were occurring throughout Western Europe at the end of the 19th century.
