Henry Cole
Henry Cole can be credited with imagining the concept of the Great Exhibition. He enrolled the help of Prince Albert in making the concept a reality; they worked together to promote it and convince the government that it was a good event for the country. They explained that it would promote the country’s achievements, the new goods and services and the arts, and would serve as an economical boost for the country. Henry Cole became a council member of the Society of Arts and a Commissioner of the Great Exhibition (World’s Fair) in London. He ended up planning, organizing and managing the Great Exhibition of 1851. Queen Victoria later knighted him for his achievements for the country.
