Educated Middle Class

Many new discoveries and designs were made in the time leading up to the Great Exhibition; this was a result of an increasingly educated middle class. People had more time for education due to the increasing prosperity in England and information was becoming more readily available and comprehendable through the development of the mass-printed word.
