Hotel Tassel is known as the first example of true Art Nouveau architecture. The center of the house features an open glass cieling to let in natural light.This hallway shows the way the graphic elements and curvilinear linework intersects the two dimensions. Technological advances in wrought iron allowed for more complex natural looking forms in not only the two dimensional plane but also the three dimensional. This is evidenced in the staircase rail as well as the support beam on the stairs.
