Mid 1900s Ads

After reconstruction from the Great Depression in the 1940’s, Americans were given a second chance in making the “American Dream” a reality. So for the next several years, ads reflected the image of a perfect family, a happy persona, and an independent changing life. This ad of the Motorola Calypso portable record player (1957) represents the age’s lean towards style, popularity, and happiness. Aesthetically, it has a good amount of text but also has a large image that shows the product in context with young people showing how fun the product could be.
